Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce Waterville Latest News |
Due to the always awesome Portland Reptile Expo, the next regular MHS meeting won't be until September 18th.
Our next meeting is this Saturday at the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce Building in Waterville. It was decided at the last meeting to experiment with a 4:00 PM meeting time to see if more members can attend.
As most of us know the current list of reptiles and amphibians that is allowed in Maine without a permit is quite restrictive. The Maine Herpetological Society’s goal since 2006 has been to get this list expanded and there has been a great deal of behind-the-scenes work to meet this goal. It is with great pleasure that we announce that, due to the efforts of the Maine Herpetological Society, with the cooperation of the Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Department, the unrestricted species list is greatly expanded.
Reptile & Amphibian aficionados are being asked to send photographs to be used for a public service announcement by the United States Association of Reptile Keepers.
I am looking for MHS members to send images of native herps in natural settings for use around the site.
